How Does 6 Team Single Elimination Tournament Work?
The tournament has 3 round, and in the first round there are 2 byes.
Bracket Size
Bracket size is the number of players in the first round including byes. It’s the closest power of 2 number to the actual number of players. In this case the bracket size is 8.
Byes
Byes is a difference between the real number of players and the bracket size. Byes are given to the top ranked players.
Rounds & Games
The rounds structure is as follows:
- Round of 8 or Quarter-Finals: 4 games, 6 players, 2 byes
- Semi-Final: 2 games, 4 players
- Final: 1 game for 2 players
Seeding
There are 3 options:
- seeded (most common): top teams will meet later in the tournament
- blind draw: the participants will get shuffled and paired randomly
- manual seeding: teams will be paired in the order entered, with the last ones assigned with byes
